Position: Temporary Full-time Vacation Bible School Camp Director Work Location: Erie Tri-County Catholic Family of Parishes, 51 Venison St West, Tillsonburg, ON Commitment: For a maximum of 180 hours to end no later than August 29, 2026. Compensation: $ 17.60 per hour. 4% vacation pay per hour worked. Posting Date: April 29, 2026 Closing Date: May 13, 2026 Vacancy: This position is expected to start in early June.
POSITION SUMMARY The Vacation Bible School (VBS) Camp Director leads the church’s children's outreach program. The VBS Camp Director is responsible for the planning, volunteer recruitment, budgeting, daily operations and overall management for the VBS Camp. The VBS Camp Director is also accountable for curriculum selection, facility scheduling, safety protocols. The VBS Camp Director is the primary organizer responsible for the creation and delivery of an engaging, fun, educational and evangelistic week long vacation bible school. SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Oversees the implementation of a Vacation Bible School curriculum that is appropriate and engaging for children between the ages of 4 - 12
Coordinates and trains adult and youth volunteers
Completes administrative tasks, including but not limited to: processing registrations, setting volunteer schedules, providing reports
Maintains and works within a given budget
Ensures the smooth operations for the daily routine of camp
Effectively problem solves any difficulties as required
Completes all assigned tasks in a timely and organized manner
Ensures the ongoing safety of all participants
Completes other duties of a similar nature as assigned and/or required
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Post secondary education (completed or in the process of) in religious studies
Knowledge of the Roman Catholic Church and its teachings
Prior experience working with children between the ages of 4-12
Proven leadership and teamwork
Professional communication skills – both oral and written
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Proficiency on MS Office and Windows 11 programs
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask.
Professional representative of the Diocese of London at all times with an understanding of and desire to support and promote the mission of the Diocese of London.
A police record check as deemed suitable by the Diocese of London will be required of the successful candidate.
