We use a combination of online and in-person tools to facilitate a process of discernment prior to admitting anyone to the program of formation and during the formation process. The diaconate is a demanding vocation, and not everyone is called. Our job is to listen with you, and on behalf of the Church, for evidence of a vocational call. Please be assured of our prayerful consideration.
Read and reflect on the articles at this link. They provide and excellent overview of the diaconate and will be discussed and referenced during our call with you and later in the process.
Please take time to read these articles on the diaconate by Cardinal Collins. They will help your understanding of the diaconate when we speak to you.

After filling our the form on the Seminary's website, A member of the diaconate admissions team will call you to conduct an initial interview and invite you to the next step, if that is appropriate.
Based on that initial interview, you will be invited to an online or in-person information session with other potential candidates. Session dates and times for spring 2026 are posted here.
If we are not in an active admissions cycle, a member of the admissions team will arrange to stay in touch and answer any questions you might have.
Reflect and Discern
The process of discernment occurs over the first year and inquirers are invited to successive steps based on ongoing discernment of a possible call to the diaconate.
