The Diocese of London is launching a special pastoral initiative to welcome families whose children under the age of reason are not yet baptized. Many such families are hesitate to approach the Church, feeling uncertain or even ashamed that their child was not baptized as an infant.
Inspired by the themes of mercy, inclusion, and renewed hope in the Jubilee Year, this initiative offers an open-hearted invitation to these families—an opportunity for healing, welcome, and sacramental grace.What is involved?
Family Retreat - A half-day, joy-filled retreat with separate activities for parents and children, community time, and spiritual preparation.
Celebration of Baptism - Held one week after the retreat—a beautiful and welcoming sacramental celebration followed by a light reception.
Ongoing Invitation - Each family receives a Welcome Package with parish info, spiritual gifts, and future opportunities for connection and growth.Local Participation and Support
Each Family of Parishes will participate by:
- Selecting a date between Fall 2025 and Spring 2026
- Inviting families through school outreach, parish bulletins, and social media
- Welcoming families with a dedicated hospitality team at both the retreat and Baptism celebration
- Preparing a Welcome Package for participating families

- Skilled facilitators to lead retreat
Together, we can welcome these children and their families back into the life of the Church, helping them discover that they are a member of the Family of God — it’s a lifelong journey of faith.
