As Catholics, we are called to live as faithful stewards, gratefully receiving God’s blessings, nurturing them with care, and sharing them generously with others. Stewardship is not just about giving; it is a way of living that reflects our baptismal call to discipleship.

Rooted in the Diocese of London’s pastoral plan, Embracing a Future Full of Hope, giving is not just a financial act—it is an expression of faith. Through our generosity, we strengthen parish communities, care for the vulnerable, and become living signs of Christ’s presence in the world.

Our time, our talents, and our treasure are all part of the gifts God entrusts to us. Stewardship is how we respond, with faith, hope, and love.

Stewardship is…

• A way of life that flows from prayer and gratitude

• A commitment to serve God and neighbour

• A response to our baptism, calling us to be active in the life and mission of the Church

• An expression of trust, that everything we give returns to God a hundredfold

It includes how we:

• Participate in Mass and the Sacraments

• Offer our time and talents in ministries and outreach

• Support our parish financially through the offertory and special appeals

• Make a planned or legacy gift to support the Church’s future

Stewardship in Our Parishes       

Through stewardship, our parishes are able to:

• Offer vibrant liturgies and music ministries

• Run faith formation for children, youth, and adults

• Visit the sick, care for the poor, and welcome the stranger

• Support our pastors, lay staff, and volunteers

• Maintain our churches and parish centres as places of worship and gathering

The Diocese walks alongside each Family of Parishes to support a strong culture of stewardship, one rooted in the Gospel, shaped by collaboration, and sustained by grace.

Stewardship is Spiritual

Stewardship is deeply spiritual. It’s not simply about giving to a need, it’s about needing to give, because we recognize all we have comes from God.

In the Diocese of London, stewardship is how we say thank you to God. It is our faithful response to His generosity, sharing our lives, gifts, and resources to build up the Church and care for one another.

By embracing stewardship, we grow in faith and deepen our relationship with Christ and His Church.
