POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Diocesan Family and Youth Ministry Specialist, the YYAFM Social Media Assistant will assist the YYAFM Office with creating and maintaining engaging social media content that connects with youth, young adults, families, and the wider Catholic community.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Creating engaging social media content, including reels, stories, photos, and graphics.
Promoting YYAFM events, programs, initiatives, and opportunities.
Helping develop creative and youth-focused content ideas.
Assisting with capturing photos and videos at YYAFM events.
Scheduling and posting content across YYAFM social media platforms.
Contributing to a consistent, positive, and engaging online presence for the YYAFM office.
Monitoring social media engagement and helping identify content that resonates with the target audience.
Performing other duties of a similar nature as assigned by the Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Secondary School Diploma or acceptable equivalent in Ontario, Canada. Post secondary education in a related field is an asset.
Advanced computer skills across a wide variety of applications.
Strong working knowledge of social media platforms, particularly Instagram and Facebook, including their strategic use for audience engagement, communications, and content promotion.
Proven ability to develop compelling social media content, including reels, stories, photos, and videos that drive audience engagement.
Creative, energetic, and able to develop fresh, youth-focused content that connects with teens, young adults, and families.
Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and represent the YYAFM Office in a positive and professional manner.
Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate and thorough products.
Must have reliable personal transportation to attend events within the Diocese of London as scheduled.
Must have and be willing to use personal computer equipment as well as equipment for taking photos and videos.
An understanding of and desire to support and promote the mission of the Diocese of London.
A police record check as deemed suitable by the Diocese of London will be required of the successful candidate.
