Commitment: This is a senior management position based on 35 hours per week.  Flexibility in hours is expected based on business needs.
Compensation: Expected annual salary range: $82,227.60 - $114,405.20. Placement within this range is commensurate with relevant industry experience, qualifications (education, skills) and/or professional designations. This position is eligible for participation in the DOL’s lay staff benefits and pension plans.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Information Technology Services (ITS) provides strategic leadership and operational management of all information technology, data, network, cybersecurity, and telecommunications services across the Diocese of London, supporting diocesan offices and parishes. The Director ensures the security, reliability, and availability of diocesan systems and data – including network security infrastructure such as firewalls – while advancing the mission of the Diocese through the effective and secure use of technology.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

• Develops and implements IT strategy aligned with the Diocesan Mission, encompassing infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and digital services.
• Leads the Diocese's cybersecurity program, including the configuration, management, and monitoring of firewalls, network security, endpoint protection, and threat detection across diocesan and parish systems.
• Manages major IT projects from planning through implementation, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Oversees the operation and security of on-premises and cloud-based data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, backup, and disaster recovery systems.
• Manages third-party service providers, managed service providers, and telecommunications carriers, including contracts and service level agreements.
• Identifies technology needs and implements solutions for diocesan offices and parishes, including cloud computing, collaboration platforms, and cybersecurity tools.
• Facilitates IT and cybersecurity awareness training and skills development for diocesan and parish staff.
• Purchases hardware, software, cloud services, and other IT-related products and services.
• Researches and implements emerging technologies, including cloud services, automation, and cybersecurity solutions.
• Develops and implements diocesan technology policies and guidelines, including acceptable use, data governance, and incident response plans.
• Develops and manages the IT budget and capital planning for technology investments.
• Ensures business continuity and disaster recovery planning for diocesan and parish technology systems.
• Works with the Diocesan Technology Advisory Committee (DTAC) to guide technology direction.
• Supervises IT department staff, providing leadership, coaching, and performance management.
• Other duties of a similar nature as required and/or assigned.
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field, with an emphasis on IT solutions.
• Minimum of five years of senior management or leadership experience in an IT environment.
• Demonstrated experience with firewall configuration, management, and network security best practices.
• Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, cloud computing platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure), cybersecurity principles, and data protection and privacy requirements.
• Experience developing and implementing IT strategy, policies, and disaster recovery/business continuity plans.
• Strong project management skills, with experience overseeing multiple concurrent IT initiatives.
• Experience managing third-party vendors, managed service providers, and service level agreements.
• Strong communication and supervisory skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• A team player who is adaptable, proactive, and resourceful in solving problems.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+, ITIL, PMP) considered an asset.
• Professional representative of the Diocese of London at all times with an understanding of and desire to support and promote the mission of the Diocese of London.
