Position: Full-time Temporary Summer Accounting Clerk Work Location: Diocesan Centre at 1070 Waterloo St., London, ON Commitment: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This temporary contract position has an immediate start date and an end date of September 4, 2026. Compensation:Expected wage range: $17.60 - $19.60 hourly. Placement within this range is commensurate with relevant industry experience, qualifications (education, skills) and/or professional designations. POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Summer Accounting Clerk provides accurate and timely support to the Accounting department, assisting with data entry and the review of parish financial reports and charity returns, as well as other duties as assigned.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Assists the Accounting department with day-to-day tasks and general support as required.
Performs accurate and timely data entry into diocesan financial systems.
Reviews parish financial reports for accuracy and completeness, flagging discrepancies for follow-up.
Reviews charity returns for accuracy and completeness, flagging discrepancies for follow-up.
Assists with filing, organizing, and maintaining electronic and paper-based financial records.
Supports the Accounting department with other administrative tasks as required.
Other duties of a similar nature as assigned by the Director of Accounting.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of, or currently pursuing, a post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when working with numbers and financial data.
Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills, with the proven ability to effectively multi-task and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint). Prior experience with accounting, payroll, or database software is an asset.
Self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally and collaboratively with colleagues, external parties, and stakeholders.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling highly sensitive information.
Adaptable team player with a positive and professional approach to work.
Professional representative of the Diocese of London at all times, with an understanding of and desire to support and promote the mission of the Diocese of London.
A police record check as deemed suitable by the Diocese of London will be required of the successful candidate.
