Position: Temporary Full-time Assistant Pastoral Animator for Family and Youth Programs Work Location: 1164 Commissioners Rd West, London, ON Commitment: 40 hours per week for a maximum of 8 weeks to end no later than August 29, 2026. Compensation: $ 18.00 per hour. 4% vacation pay per hour worked. POSITION SUMMARY The Assistant Pastoral Animator for Family and Youth Programs will assist the Pastoral Minister in organizing and facilitating events and activities that serve the social and faith needs of registered families, and the local community. This position involves planning, organizing, and preparing upcoming activities and events with emphasis on engagement and outreach to families and youth. This position may involve facilitating programming. This job reports directly to the Pastoral Minister of Families, Youth, and Sacramental Preparation. SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Organize faith formation materials to be implemented throughout the year
Assist with facilitating summer camp experience for children ages 4-6 years old
Develop child and youth-focused resources for use in various programs
Collaborate with the Pastoral Minister to review and develop program materials
Prepare content for Springbank Catholic social media platforms and parish bulletin
Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment
Ensure compliance with Safe Environment and Called, Gifted, Sent policies and/or other diocesan and legislative requirements
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Post secondary education (completed or in the process of) in religious studies preferred
Knowledge of the Roman Catholic Church and its teachings
Prior experience working with children between the ages of 4-12
Proven leadership and teamwork
Professional communication skills – both oral and written
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Proficiency on MS Office and Windows 11 programs
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask.
Passion for connecting people in meaningful ways
Event planning experience is an asset
Previous experience in youth ministry / parish volunteer is an asset
Knowledge of various social media platforms
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and Canva
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Professional representative of the Diocese of London at all times with an understanding of and desire to support and promote the mission of the Diocese of London.
A police record check as deemed suitable by the Diocese of London will be required of the successful candidate.
