Earlier this year, there were fraudsters impersonating local priests and asking for gift cards for a friend battling cancer, the poor, etc.  Unfortunately, these scams have popped up again just in time for Christmas.
 
Scam requests can be made by varied means such as email or social media.  Please be alert and always follow-up any request personally to ensure its authenticity.  Remember – it is very unlikely that your parish priest has written you to ask for electronic gift cards.
