Position: Full-time Office Administrator for the Lucan Northwest London Catholic Family of Parishes Availability: position will be available March 30, 2026 Work Location: 777 Valetta St., London, Ontario Commitment: 35 hours/week. Normal working hours will be Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Periodic variations in the schedule will be determined in consultation with the Business Manager or Pastor to meet business needs. Compensation: Expected wage range: $22.54 to $31.73 hourly. This position is eligible for participation in the lay benefits plan and pension program. Posting Date: February 13, 2026 Closing Date: February 27, 2026 Position Summary: Reporting to the Mission Support Team Lead, the Office Administrator is responsible for professionally and courteously greeting all who contact the office, either in person, by phone or email. This position provides clerical based support to the Pastor, Priests, Mission Support Team Lead and the Family of Parish’s Senior Leadership team.
Summary of Duties:
Answers phone inquiries and/or directs calls to the appropriate individual(s).
Greets and welcomes walk-ins.
Completes mass requests and accurately records information.
Answers questions about Sacraments; baptisms, first reconciliations, first communions, confirmations, weddings, funerals, etc. Knows to whom the individuals need to be referred to within the parish.
Accepts deliveries, opens, sorts and distributes mail.
Coordinates with the Building Attendant, through our on-line booking forms, for event set-up and take down in the churches and halls.
Books meeting rooms for staff and/or groups.
Ensures appropriate inventories of liturgical supplies and office supplies.
Maintains supplies of all forms that are required in support of the church’s day to day activities.
Updates general phone greeting and Family of Parishes staff phone directory.
Maintains an orderly filing system for parish records, information, programs, etc.
Makes photocopies for walk-ins.
Assists with funeral planning supports and communications.
Assists with the production and distribution of the weekly bulletin and the monthly ‘Beacon’.
Assists clergy and co-workers with administrative tasks as assigned by the Business Manager.
Maintains the electronic building access program and addresses issues and/or cancels fobs accordingly.
Other duties of a similar nature as assigned by the Mission Support Team Lead.
Qualifications and Requirements:
College diploma in Business, Office Administration or a related field of study and/or a minimum of two (2) years related business experience.
Able to maintain strict confidentiality of highly sensitive personal information.
Proficient in the latest versions of Office 365, Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
Strong English communication skills required (CLB 9+), including the ability to interpret detailed information, write professional reports, and communicate effectively in professional situations.
Collaborative, supportive, flexible team player with a high degree of initiative.
Personal commitment to serving the parishes is crucial. Must have a faith-based understanding and appreciation of the Catholic Church and the Diocese of London, its tenets and culture, along with a deep respect for its leadership, clergy and parishioners.
A police record check as deemed suitable by the Diocese of London will be required of the successful candidate. Please note: All new staff are required to complete on-line mandatory training available in English or French. Basic computer and reading proficiency to successfully complete this education is required.
