Local philanthropist, Alan Quesnel, has pledged a matching donation of $1.25 million to Ste. Anne church in Tecumseh to help toward the restoration of the church building.
Last month it was announced that an anonymous donor had come forward and made a commitment to match up to $1.25 million in funds, setting a deadline that was later extended to November 30, 2016.
In addition to Mr. Quesnel’s pledge, so far 63 donors have come forward, totaling $389, 650 in pledges.
“We are indeed astounded by this generous commitment because we can now look forward with great confidence to help us to complete the restoration work to the remaining 3 walls of the Church, as well as the Chapel,” shared Fr. Eugene Roy, pastor of Ste. Anne.
