Position: Casual Server – St. Simon St. Jude Parish Hall – Windsor - Lake St. Clair Catholic Family of Parishes Primary Work Location: St. Simon St. Jude Parish Hall, 267 Meunier Street, Belle River, ON Commitment: No minimum guarantee of hours. Hours are casual in nature and are based on business needs. Compensation: $18/hour, 4% vacation pay Posting Date: November 5, 2025 Closing Date: November 12, 2025
POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Hall Manager, the casual Server at St. Simon St. Jude Parish Hall within the Windsor – Lake St. Clair Catholic Family of Parishes provides welcoming and friendly food service to guests visiting the hall for dining events. SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Prepares tables, serving stations and/or buffet tables for meal service.
Carries food and beverages for service to the guests from the kitchen to the tables.
Serves food and beverages to guests at their tables and/or at serving stations.
Creates a pleasant atmosphere for dining and entertainment.
Communicates with and assists colleagues to ensure a trouble free and enjoyable event for all guests.
Provides bar service to guests, including cash and credit services.
Cleans up after events and aides in the taking of inventory.
Other duties of a similar nature as assigned by the Hall Manager or designate.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Secondary school diploma or equivalent and/or currently enrolled in secondary school.
SMART SERVE certification is an asset.
Prior experience in serving food in a catering or restaurant setting is an asset.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with a focus on customer service.
Ability and willingness to perform manual physical labour.
Ability and willingness to work flexible working hours based on event schedules, including weekends and evenings.
Professional representative of the Diocese of London at all times with an understanding of and desire to support and promote the mission of the Diocese of London
A police record check as deemed suitable by the Diocese of London will be required of the successful candidate.
