Position: Part-time Housekeeper – Lake Huron Catholic Family of Parishes Primary location: Rectory at St. Peter Parish, 156 North Street, Goderich, Ontario Commitment: approx. 3 hours every other week (flexibility to work varying days and/or hours based on business needs is required) Compensation Range: $18.82 to $23.00 per hour, depending on experience Posting date: January 14, 2026 Closing date: January 29, 2026
POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Pastor, the Housekeeper performs all basic cleaning for the parish rectory at St. Peter, Goderich.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Performs regular household bi-weekly cleaning of the rectory, including but not limited to: dusting, vacuuming, mopping of floors, collecting and emptying of trash and recycling, disinfecting of bathrooms (sinks, showers, tubs, toilets, etc.).
Performs periodic cleaning on a monthly and/or as needed basis, including but not limited to: cleaning of exhaust fans, baseboards, door frames, ceilings, walls, cupboards, fridge, microwave, oven, other kitchen minor appliances, etc.
Other duties of a similar nature as assigned by the Pastor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in cleaning professional business offices and/or domestic properties.
Working knowledge of and experience with the safe handling and proper use of household cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Adept at multi-tasking and organizing effectively to ensure timely completion of a number of tasks in a short period of time.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently with excellent attention to detail regarding cleanliness.
Ability and willingness to perform physical tasks in an efficient and safe manner.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours based on needs of parish, which may include weekends and/or evenings.
Professional representative of the Diocese of London at all times with an understanding of and desire to support and promote the mission of the Diocese of London.
A police record check as deemed suitable by the Diocese of London will be required of the successful candidate.
Note: All new staff are required to complete on-line mandatory training available in English or French. Basic computer and reading proficiency to successfully complete this education is required.
