POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Pastor, the Coordinator of Pastoral and Sacramental Ministry for the London East Central Catholic of Parishes is responsible for various areas of faith formation, program coordination and delivery. The Coordinator of Pastoral and Sacramental Ministry is responsible for the evangelization, development and support of the liturgical, sacramental and community life of the parishes. The Coordinator of Pastoral and Sacramental Ministry will work in partnership with the parish and pastoral teams.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Works to develop and support the liturgical life of the family of parishes.
Collaborates with the pastoral team on the coordination, facilitation and participation in the sacramental life of the Family of Parishes including Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation both youth and adult, R.C.I.A., R.C.I.A. adapted for children, and Marriage.
Coordinates with the school principals for school liturgies and pastoral visits.
Coordinates volunteers who provide pastoral outreach of parishioners which may include visitation of the sick, elderly, and homebound, organizing celebrations for them, ensuring they receive the Eucharist, and ensuring their pastoral needs are met.
Recruits, trains, and coordinates volunteer ministries within the parish family in accordance to required Diocesan protocols and policies.
Other duties of a similar nature as assigned by the Pastor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Certificate in Pastoral Ministry or willingness to obtain one or Bachelor of Arts or Master’s Degree in Pastoral / Lay Ecclesial Ministry or other related degree.
Active practicing Catholic – letter of recommendation from Pastor is required. Must have respect for diocesan leadership, clergy and parishioners.
Good working knowledge of the evangelizing mission of the Church.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
Polish language skills are an advantage.
Leadership qualities; organizational skills; teaching skills; strong communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team.
Must be flexible and adaptive to the different cultural traditions within the family of parishes.
Willingness and ability to work flexible hours of work including evenings and weekends.
Reliable transportation to travel throughout the family of parishes community and diocese is required.
Friendly, hospitable and professional representative of the Diocese of London at all times.
An understanding of and desire to support and promote the mission of the Diocese of London.
